Croydon UKIP. People are waking up and realising that the main three national parties have become a detached political class that no longer represents the people, traditions or constitution of this country. Nor do they wish to for reasons only they know. UKIP represents the priorities of the overwhelming majority of the British people and is putting the peoples voice back into our politics again. UKIP was founded in 1993 when it became clear after Maastrict that Britains political direction was going to mean Britain being ruled from Brussels rather than Westminster, by stealth. It is now Britains fourth largest political party as a result with a nationwide branch network dedicated to putting our own elected representatives into political office. Whilst we still work to gain our first MPs not an easy task in our first past the post system we have succeeded with numerous elected councilors in local government, two peers in the House of Lords, and nine MEPs in Brussels who are part of the group of MEPs who work to expose this undemocratic bureaucracy for what it is. Our efforts continue, through the membership and support of individuals, and businesses like you perhaps, and our range of policies cover the political spectrum. Croydon branch has campaigned in main Local and National elections since 1997, gaining new voters and supporters each time.
