Crayford is one of the oldest and most successful greyhound tracks in the UK. There has been a tradition of greyhound racing at Crayford since 1938, when it was called the Crayford and Bexleyheath Stadium. However, over the decades it hasnt only been used for dog racing. At one time you could come and see speedway and banger rancing on a Tuesday night, and the large stadium attracted a variety of events such as radio shows, stunt ensembles and even Afghan racing Crayford Dog racing TrackIn 1975 Ladbrokes took ownership of Crayford, and our sister track, Monmore Green in Wolverhampton. The track was briefly closed down for 18 months and rebuilt, reopening again as Crayford Greyhound Track in September 1986 with a smaller track and a sports hall.
