The FHHS was formed in May 1971 by the amalgamation of the Fulham History Society founded 1934 and the Hammersmith Local History Group founded 1955. Its purpose is: To foster and encourage the study of local history and archaeology. To compile and publish historical material relating to the area of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham To encourage interest in local history and archaeology by meetings, visits and other appropriate means.
