In 1994 my radio career began and now I can be heard on West Londons extremely popular radio station Unique 101.2 FM on three evenings a week although, my involvement in the soca industry dates back well before 1994. As a young boy in Trinidad, I was privileged to be in the company of many top soca artistes and bands where I would hear future hits being recorded in their raw state.Listening to sound checks was sometimes a greater experience than the actual night performance. On arrival to this country, It was strange not having the familiar culture of back home that I had grown to love and one fete a month was not going to quench my cultural thirst and at that time the World Wide Web was not linking the world as is now. Therefore inorder to keep abreast of what was happening in the industry I had to make regular phones calls back home.When you combine these actions plus my fairly impressive library of tunes this is what has enabled me to have an extensive knowledge of the soca industry and due to this I am often called upon by other radio stations and media publications for facts and figures and sometimes as much as actual records.
