Valentines Park in the most attractive and interesting park in the London Borough of Redbridge and, arguably, within East London and suburban Essex. The park was originally the private parkland of Valentines Mansion and parts were landscaped to created a high quality Rococo landscape in the mid18th century. The was added to and modified during the late19th century, notable additions being the Rose Garden The Rosery and The American Gardens. In 1899, Ilford Council, purchase the southern part of the estate and created a fine municipal park. Over the next 25 years, the council acquired most of the remaining areas of the Valentines Estate to create the park we see today a unique mix of 18th, 19th and 20th century elements.
